Большинство прилетает в Барилоче за озёрами, шоколадом и подъёмником — и улетает, так и не увидев главного. А главное здесь под водой: радужная форель на три, четыре, пять килограммов, каких не бывает в горных ручьях с открыток.

Мы ловим на водохранилище Аликура — это час с небольшим от города, через степь, туда, где Лимай зажат базальтовыми плато. Там стоят садковые хозяйства, рыба годами нагуливает вес, и водоём открыт все двенадцать месяцев, пока реки нацпарка спят с мая по ноябрь.

Троллинг, спиннинг, нахлыст — что вам ближе, тем и ловим, всё показываю на месте. Если вы никогда не держали удочку, это как раз ваш день.

La mayoría llega a Bariloche por los lagos, el chocolate y el cerro, y se vuelve sin ver lo mejor. Lo mejor está bajo el agua: truchas arcoíris de tres, cuatro, cinco kilos, que no existen en los arroyos de postal.

Pescamos en el embalse Alicura, a poco más de una hora por la estepa, donde el Limay queda encajonado entre mesetas de basalto. Ahí funcionan las balsas jaula, la trucha engorda durante años y el embalse está habilitado los doce meses, mientras los ríos del parque duermen de mayo a noviembre.

Trolling, spinning o mosca: pescamos como te sientas más cómodo y te enseño todo en el momento. Si nunca agarraste una caña, este es justamente tu día.

Most people fly into Bariloche for the lakes, the chocolate and the chairlift — and fly home without seeing the best part. The best part is underwater: rainbow trout of three, four, five kilos, the kind that don't exist in the postcard streams.

We fish Alicura reservoir, a little over an hour out across the steppe, where the Limay runs pinched between basalt plateaus. Aquaculture pens sit on that water, trout put on weight for years, and it stays open all twelve months while the national-park rivers sleep from May to November.

Embalse sobre el Limay, entre mesetas de basalto y estepa pelada. Es nuestro ambiente principal: profundo, frío y el único de la zona habilitado en invierno. De acá salen los trofeos. A reservoir on the Limay between basalt plateaus and bare steppe. Our main water: deep, cold, and the only one nearby open in winter. This is where the trophies come from.

Я живу в Барилоче и вожу людей на рыбалку. Без агентств и колл-центров: вы пишете мне, и на воде с вами буду я.

Половина моих гостей — русскоязычные из Буэнос-Айреса. Многие переехали недавно, испанский ещё в процессе, и меньше всего хочется в свой единственный выходной объясняться жестами про глубину и приманку. Со мной можно просто говорить.

Вторая половина — аргентинцы и иностранцы, и им я говорю то же самое: моя работа не «покатать по озеру», а сделать так, чтобы вы поймали. Поэтому я знаю, где стоит рыба в июле, поэтому смотрю прогноз накануне, и поэтому в лодке всегда есть запасной комплект перчаток и шапка.

Vivo en Bariloche y llevo gente a pescar. No trabajo para una agencia ni hay call center en el medio: me escribís vos y en el agua voy a estar yo.

La mitad de los que vienen conmigo son rusoparlantes de Buenos Aires. Muchos llegaron hace poco, el español todavía está en camino, y lo último que querés en tu único día libre es explicar por señas a qué profundidad va el señuelo. Conmigo se puede hablar y ya.

La otra mitad son argentinos y extranjeros, y a ellos les digo lo mismo: mi trabajo no es pasear por el lago, es que saques pescado. Por eso sé dónde está la trucha en julio, por eso miro el pronóstico la noche anterior, y por eso en la lancha siempre hay un par de guantes y un gorro de más.

I live in Bariloche and I take people fishing. No agency, no call centre in between — you message me, and I'm the one in the boat with you.

Half my guests are Russian speakers from Buenos Aires. Many arrived recently, their Spanish is still coming along, and the last thing you want on your one free day is miming the word "depth" at a stranger. With me you can just talk.

The other half are Argentines and travellers from everywhere, and I tell them the same thing: my job isn't a boat ride, it's that you catch fish. That's why I know where trout hold in July, why I check the forecast the night before, and why there's always a spare pair of gloves and a hat in the boat.

Patagonian fishing runs on its rulebook, and I follow it without exceptions — otherwise there's nothing left here in ten years.

Это половина моих гостей. Троллинг — самый простой вход в рыбалку: снасть работает за лодкой, я слежу за глубиной и эхолотом, ваша задача — взять удилище, когда сработает, и не спешить. Первую рыбу вываживаем вместе, дальше вы уже сами.

Es la mitad de los que vienen. El trolling es la entrada más simple a la pesca: el equipo trabaja detrás de la lancha, yo miro la profundidad y la ecosonda, y lo tuyo es agarrar la caña cuando pica y no apurarte. La primera la sacamos juntos; después ya salís solo.

That's half my guests. Trolling is the gentlest way in: the gear works behind the boat, I watch the depth and the sonar, and your job is to pick up the rod when it goes off and not rush. We land the first one together — after that you're on your own.

Реки и озёра нацпарка открыты с 1 ноября по 1 мая — это классический сезон, тепло и длинный день. Но Аликура открыта круглый год, и зимой там своя награда: людей нет, вода холодная, рыба тяжёлая. Если вы прилетаете в Барилоче кататься на лыжах — возьмите один день на воде между катаниями, это лучший «выходной от гор», который тут есть.

Los ríos y lagos del parque van del 1 de noviembre al 1 de mayo: es la temporada clásica, con calor y días largos. Pero Alicura está habilitado todo el año, y el invierno ahí tiene lo suyo: no hay nadie, el agua está fría y el pescado pesa. Si venís a Bariloche a esquiar, metete un día de pesca entre bajada y bajada; es el mejor descanso de la montaña que hay acá.

Park rivers and lakes run 1 November to 1 May — the classic season, warm with long days. But Alicura is open all year, and winter there has its own reward: nobody around, cold water, heavy fish. If you're flying in to ski, put one day on the water between days on the mountain — it's the best rest day this place offers.

Лицензия именная и обязательная — возить с собой нужно всегда. Для нерезидентов ориентировочно 50 000 песо за день, 140 000 за десять дней и 280 000 на сезон; для резидентов Аргентины — в разы дешевле. Дети до 12 лет, пенсионеры и люди с инвалидностью — бесплатно. Пришлите фото паспорта или DNI за пару дней до выезда, остальное я беру на себя.

El permiso es personal, obligatorio y hay que llevarlo siempre encima. Para no residentes ronda los $50.000 por día, $140.000 por diez días y $280.000 la temporada; para residentes argentinos es bastante menos. Menores de 12, jubilados y personas con discapacidad no pagan. Mandame una foto del pasaporte o DNI un par de días antes y del resto me ocupo yo.

The permit is personal, compulsory and must be carried at all times. Hay vuelos directos desde Aeroparque (AEP) a Bariloche (BRC): unas 2 h 20, con Aerolíneas Argentinas, Flybondi y JetSMART, varias frecuencias por día. Sale más barato volar entre semana y fuera de vacaciones escolares. Viernes a la noche para allá, domingo a la noche de vuelta, y tenés dos días completos de agua.

Direct flights from Aeroparque (AEP) to Bariloche (BRC) take about 2 h 20, on Aerolíneas Argentinas, Flybondi and JetSMART, several a day. Midweek and outside school holidays is cheapest. Fly Friday evening, fly back Sunday evening, and you get two full days on the water.

Sí, y suelen engancharse más que los grandes. Con chicos hago medio día en el Nahuel Huapi: cerca, tranquilo y, si se aburren, volvemos. Tengo chalecos en talles de niño. Hasta los 12 el permiso es gratis. A Alicura con los más chiquitos no lo recomiendo: mucho viaje y día largo.

Yes, and they usually take to it faster than the adults. With kids I do the half day on Nahuel Huapi: close by, calm, and if they lose interest we head back. I carry child-size life jackets. Under-12s don't pay for a permit. I don't recommend Alicura with small children — long drive, long day.

Бронь — 50% предоплаты, остаток в день выезда. Принимаю песо, доллары наличными и перевод. Что делать с уловом — почистить, упаковать в дорогу, подсказать, где закоптить — обсудим уже на месте.

Para reservar, 50% de seña y el resto el día de la salida. Acepto pesos, dólares en efectivo y transferencia. Qué hacer con el pescado —limpiarlo, envasarlo para el viaje, dónde ahumarlo— lo arreglamos ahí mismo.

A 50% deposit holds the date, the balance on the day. I take pesos, cash dollars or a transfer. What to do with your catch — cleaning it, packing it for the trip, where to smoke it — we sort out on the day.
